HOW ARE THE TEAMS SELECTED AT CAMP?

Qualified and experienced instructors, along with our dedicated camp counselors, run each camp session. On the first day, camp attendees are organized by age group and skill level, based on that information, teams are formed.

WILL DWYANE WADE ACTUALLY BE THERE? WILL MY CHILD GET TO MEET HIM?

This is one question we are always asked and the answer is...YES! Dwyane Wade will be at camp both days offering his insight & personal testimony.  All campers, regardless of their chosen sport, will begin or end their sessions in a group setting with Dwyane.  On the second day all campers will attend the Dwyane Wade Sports Challenge and Award Ceremony.

WHAT WILL MY BASKETBALL PLAYER DO & LEARN AT CAMP?

Over the course of the two days, basketball campers will rotate through Skill & Drill stations, improving technique and/or mastering the basics with our talented instructors. Time spent at the Agility station will focus on speed, strength and footwork. Our younger basketball campers will visit the Courtology Student Athlete Study Hall.  Through fun, interactive sessions, campers will discuss the importance of proper sportsmanship, being a great student-athlete, positive thinking and successful attitudes! Our older basketball campers will spend time with a professional sports speaker.  They'll listen to personal testimony, discuss the truths and realities of playing college and professional sports and cultivating healthy behaviors (both on & off the court). Basketball tournaments are played both days, with elimination rounds on the second day. 

WHAT WILL MY FOOTBALL PLAYER DO & LEARN AT CAMP?

WHAT WILL MY CHEERLEADER DO & LEARN AT CAMP?

Campers will rotate through tumbling, stunting and dance/cheer stations, based on level, improving technique and/or mastering the basics with our talented instructors.  Over the two days, cheer campers will be trained and taught a choreographed routine that will be performed during the second day award ceremony.  Special guests will also visit and speak with the cheer campers.

WHAT SHOULD MY CAMPER WEAR & BRING?

All campers will receive a camp t-shirt at check in on the first day (to be worn during camp).  Please ensure your child wears this BOTH days of camp. Basketball campers should wear athletic shoes and shorts.  Soccer and football campers may bring cleats, but will need athletic shoes as well.  Cheerleading campers should wear athletic shoes and tighter shorts or capris, loose fitting shorts are not recommended.  We advise campers DO NOT bring anything else with them. We are not responsible for lost items.

WHAT ABOUT LUNCH & BEVERAGES?

Water and Gatorade is always available to campers.  Both Half Day and All-Day campers receive lunch on both days. All-day campers have a one-hour lunch break in between sessions.  Half Day campers take their lunch to go at the end of their session. 

*Note: Nothing with peanut or peanut oil is served during lunch.  We are not able to accommodate special dietary needs such as gluten free, vegan, etc. If your child has any special diet needs, please pack a cold lunch and bring to camp. Check in bag lunches upon arrival and they will be refrigerated until lunch.

WHAT DAYS DOES MY CHILD ATTEND CAMP?

THIS IS A TWO-DAY CAMP.  Your camper will attend their selected session on BOTH days. We have half day & full day sessions to choose from. All sessions are open to boys & girls ages 7 to 18. This is NOT an overnight camp. 

CAN PARENTS STAY & WATCH?

Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay and watch their campers from the designated viewing areas!  We especially recommend parents attend the last 45 minutes of their camper’s session on the second day for the Dwyane Wade Sports Challenge and Award Ceremony. 

HOW CAN I GET SOMETHING AUTOGRAPHED? 

All campers will receive an autographed keepsake from camp.  Additional autographed memorabilia is available for purchase both days of camp.  We accept cash & debit card purchases.  You may also select to purchase memorable experiences, one on one photos and meet & greet opportunities when available.

 DO YOU PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS?

We do not provide individual scholarships. We provide scholarships to registered non-profit partners and they select youth from their organizations to receive them.

Country Inn & Suites in Tinley Park is our preferred Chicagoland hotel partner and approximately 15 minutes from the camp location. They have an indoor pool and offer complimentary breakfast.  Mention the Dwyane Wade Sports Academy when booking and receive a room rate of $114 + tax per night.

WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

All camp registration is final. While unlikely, scheduled event features, times and players subject to change without notice or warning.
